Rotville, the community no!

In 1958 a sociologist named Edward Banfield, studying Southern culture, and especially referring to a town in southern Italy, which conventionally called Montegrano, coined the term amoral familism.
The researcher had observed a selfish logic implicit within the Community Relations: each family, thinking that the other family groups behaved similarly, sought to maximize its material advantages, and short term, to the detriment of the "common good" long term.
Putting a little 'by sociology in the strict sense, 2003 was presented Dogville, a masterpiece of Danish director Lars Von Trier ... in which we deal in a subtle way, perhaps unique, the theme of community and community relations: invisible walls, feeling violated and broken, forced meetings, violent and indiscreet glances, gossip, bias, pseudo division of roles, the belief is sufficient unto themselves, in different ratios, depending on your mood, which in turn is conditioned by time, and the conveniences of the moment, but to play a key role is the concept of " acceptance "of the other, the stranger, the different, the equal or just feel differently.
The epilogue shows the inevitable end of amoral familism, gossip, prejudice, feelings of being violated, the prying eyes of the meetings forced the pseudo division of roles, the belief is sufficient unto themselves ... but at what price? We hope to find out soon with the film!
